Having worked on various meetings and training programmes already, an inter-company referral resulted in our services being requested to assist with a Winter (Christmas) Party.
Prior to contacting us, they had experienced poor attendance, and were looking to change the reputation of the event to re-engage their staff and make it one to remember for all the right reasons!
Event in Brief:
* Capacity for 300 dinner dance with stage
* Several breakout spaces for board meetings, all with natural daylight
* Fully residential onsite, with 80 rooms required per night
* Private dining onsite on one night
Needs & Challenges:
"We need to relaunch our staff party and I've told them you're the ones to help us! Over the years there has not been much focus placed on it, we've generally just booked a standard hotel package and attendance and interest has dwindled. But we want to reinvent it, and give everyone something to look forward to each year, so I need to come up with something spectacular, and I need your help.
A venue with impact so the team know this is the start of something special!
Central to multiple offices in our region, and with easy road access, plus ideally close to a train station.
We want it to be a sense of occasion, (so black tie), but have a fun, relaxed element - We like the idea of street food?
A theme to get people to start talking about it."
We had a meeting to discuss initial ideas, logistics and budgets, and then advised how to make the most out the investment, whilst providing maximum impact. A proposal of concepts followed, providing potential themes with possible inclusions, for the company's event committee to consider. We worked together creating a shortlist of the options best suited to this group, Including:
Fairground complete with Dodgems, fun stalls, and street food.
Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory complete with golden ticket invites delivered inside a chocolate bar, to staff's home address, creative lighting, an edible bubble volcano and alcoholic mist orbs and edible fragrance factory.
Indoor Festival Teepee with live bands and deck chairs, various street food stalls, Glitter face painter and wandering fire eaters.
Once the shortlist has been chosen, we fine-tuned requirements and quotations. The Fairground concept won! An internal campaign helped to build excitement in the run up to the party and the attendance was a record high!
The feedback from the event was outstanding, with attendees saying it was the best company event they had attended! The Dodgems and the street food went down a storm, and the company's event committee were rightly showered with praise, with many of their colleagues already asking what plans were for the following year!
It was a complete success and the committee achieved turning the profile of the event around into something everybody wanted to attend.
Since 2015, we have had the pleasure to build on this joint success, working with them as one team on the event year on year, as well as having the pleasure of organising other milestone celebrations for the company.
